I wanted to give a special thank you to the organizers of the first Turkey Trot in Morgantown, held Thanksgiving Day.
The course started with three-quarters of a lap around the WVU track and a downhill first mile to the Star City entrance to the rail-trail. It featured two miles on the trail and ended at the Seneca Center.
The volunteers were knowledgeable, the path was clearly marked and the food was delicious.
My kids participated in the 400 yard kids race and enjoyed the prize — sports jelly beans — at the end.
With about 260 entrants, it looked like a great start to an annual tradition. Good job!
