I have logged more than 1,000 miles running and walking. I ran my first marathon.

I ran the Marine Corps Marathon in October.

I also sacrificed financially comfort for my mental and physical health.

All in all, 2015 was a mixed bag of the highest highs and some of the lowest lows.

I found new friends and inner strength through Team RWB. I found myself running with a pack in many aspects of my life, yet feeling all alone.

As we head in 2016, I see the year as a building year. I’ll be hitting another decade of life, another age group.

My oldest kid will mark a full decade of life.

So here are my goals for 2016:

  • Be engaged in my community.
  • Be proactive in regards to my health.
  • Be present.

These goals include little side goals, like bringing down my mile time and weight and starting an active Team RWB chapter in my town.

The adventure started today when I climbed a hill I haven’t been able to climb before. Have a happy new year and feel free to share in the adventure on Instagram at mtnmamarunning or Facebook at runningmtnmama.
