Pear/apple sauce bread
2 cups unsifted flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2-2 cups apple or pear sauce (without added spices)
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon (apple) or ginger (pear)
Preheat over to 375. Oil and flour a bread pan. Cream 1 1/2 cups of apple/pear sauce and sugar together and mix in the baking soda. Add flour and spice (cinnamon or ginger), blending thoroughly. You may need to add the remaining pear/apple sauce to incorporate all the dry ingredients. The batter should be slightly stiff, like stirring thick pudding.
Pour batter into pan. Bake 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Approximate calories per serving: 150, 12 slices in a loaf, according to MyFitnessPal.

Note: The picture bread was made with a 1 1/2 cups homemade pear sauce (red pear peels left on) and 1/2 cup of homemade applesauce (only cinnamon added).
